Practice Development

Taking a systematic approach to supporting general practice, the Practice Development program aims to:

• Engage with all general practices within the catchment;
• Increase general practice accreditation;
• Strengthen the nursing role as an integral component of the general practice team;
• Support practice capacity to implement effective systems;
• Provide education and training that meets the needs of all members of the practice team.

What’s On Offer?

The GP Network has developed a practice engagement framework that uses a needs analysis to engage and support all general practices and coordinate access to a variety of GP Network services.

Current services include:
• Promotion of best practice based on RACGP standards for accreditation

• A comprehensive practice staff training and networking program including:
Medical emergencies
Infection control
Managing difficult patients/safety

• Tailored support through practice visits, telephone ‘help desk’ and resources

• Provision of onsite audit tools to enhance business systems and health outcomes:
