Research and Development

The objective of the GP Network is to develop the capacity of local general practices to participate in primary health research.

What’s On Offer?

• Creation of a GP Network research incubator with evaluation and research data, analysis of available GP Network staff and GP skills, and interests of GPs and staff.

• Assessment of requests for the GP Network and local GPs to support external research projects, ensuring a sound base for GP research, GP involvement, and GP financial reimbursement.

• Assistance for local practices to participate in primary health research through writing research applications, papers for publications, etc.

• Negotiations with key research institutions to support local practices to participate in primary health research such as a childhood obesity study 2008-2009 with Monash University Department of General Practice
