Melbourne East General Practice Network Limited was formed through the amalgamation of Whitehorse and Inner Eastern Melbourne Divisions of General Practice in April 2008. Melbourne East GP Network is a dynamic network delivering leadership in primary health care. It aims to optimise patient care and the health of the community by supporting general practice centred quality primary health care. A planning framework has been designed to support the GP Network in its deliberations and in the setting of priorities for the future. The framework is made up of four areas across a matrix of: doctor to the people (vertical axis); and the individual to the organisation (horizontal axis). The matrix guides the basis of the strategic and business plans. All GP Network activities fall primarily into one of four quadrants: GP Workforce and Welfare; Population Health; Practice Development; and Leadership and Advocacy. Our Mission is to optimise patient care and the health of the community by supporting general practice centred quality primary health care
